Having just finished my foundation year at Leeds College of Art and not yet started my painting degree at Edinburgh College of Art I am just beginning my career as an aspiring artist. Growing up with a mum who's an artist and a horror writer for a dad, the arts have played a huge role in my life and my parents individual interests have certainly taught me to find the beauty, not only in the world around me, but also in the unexpected or even macabre.
However, in January 2015 I was diagnosed with a form of cancer, called Hodgkins Lymphoma, and so my life took a rather unexpected turn. I was able to finish my Foundation Year but as treatment continued throughout September I was forced to defer my place at Edinburgh. However, this has given me a fantastic opportunity to further immerse myself in my painting and start to establish my own style. I am determined to make this year one of adventure and am lucky that the world of painting is something that can always be disappeared into, however I'm feeling.
Hope you enjoy!
